How dumb do I feel.  Of couse I can share the target for the data on the old machine and copy from it to the new! Duh.   
I've put in my purchase for the Pro copy in appreciation of your product and assistance.  If I get bak all 123000 photos of this drive it's well worth the $44.
Just waiting for the key now, the test copy worked so we are looking good.

I have checked with our developers, they say that this is not something that could be easily fixed (the problem is related to OS permissions on read-only NTFS volumes). I would not expect this to be implemented anytime soon. 

But you can always share a folder on the remote system and copy the files into that folder from your local PC.

		<description>Ok,  final question.  I have to recover my 300gig (FULL) hard drive. THe partitons is found etc; I've gone and purchased an external drive to move the data to. However the system crashes (the cause of the loss in the first place I feel) when I try to attacch it.  So the new plan it to copy the data accross the network to another PC - but I can't share the Drive?  Any clues?

And I've answered my own question about making a contribution - buy the Pro version. Ready to do so if there is a way around this situation.
